no work!

it turned out i didnt have to work for science world today but i still got paid for showing up. it kinda sucks when this happens b/c i could've planned to do different things but at the same time it's kinda nice because now i can do stuff like this and not feel like i am wasting time. i'm still officially getting paid right now!
anyways, yesterday after i finished my shift at SciWorld me and a bunch of my coworkers took advantage of the on-site beer garden! there was a huge 'tech' networking event taking place and they had rented out all of Science World (it was completely closed off to the public) and they had set up their own beer garden. it was a total novelty to be drinking beer at work especially since our work place is usually full of kids and instead it was a bunch of high roller business types. fun times.
tuesday i gave away my car... the tercel is gone! i gave it to my friend jesse gander (whose parents had originally given it to me) and it was great to see it roll away.
my parents get back from their 3 month hawaiian getaway this weekend... it'll be sad to give bak my mom's car but i'm sure ready to stop taking care of all their mail/bills/phone calls/ etc.!
alright i am gonna try to post some pics
oh ya and i am happy to announce that poki's popularity is growing on her new webgroup... chek her out and give her a bone

630 am

ok, so now that i am all caught up on my blog i fgure i might as welll try my best to keep up with it again... but i cant believe i am posting this early! i have a job interview this morn to become a naturalist with www.whalesvancouver.ca. basically the job involves going out on whale watching boat tours and describing the local marine life that we see. it'd be a fun summer job b/c it's based out of Granville Island and i can ride my bike for less than 10minutes along the sea wall to get there. but all i want is a part-time job to help keep my schedule focused - and this posting said 12 - 32 hours per week. i can defnitely handle the lower range but there is really no point in me working 32hours at a job like this when i make a lot more with mk. especially since i wanted to take advantage of being self-employed and go away on some fun trips this summer. i have already had the exact same work experience in Greece so i already have a good idea as to whats involved i just need to find out how well the company is run (my doubts are just b/c my interview is today, a holiday and was booked on a holiday - good friday - not too mention that the manager called my cell phone first and it was around 6pm - on a friday nite?! kinda weird if u ask me)
anyways, directly after my interview i am headed out to langley to hold a "business debut" for one of my mk recruits. it's kinda like a ribbon-cutting ceremony to get her business off and rolling.
i'm sure i will be logging in soon to let everybody know how the whole day goes.

oh ya, and this weekend was so busy yet so fun... it was great having my friends billy and catherine visitng from portland (i'll post the pics later catherine) and of course visiting all the family. can hardly believe after 3 whole months my parents get back this coming weekend.

woops, i kinda forgot about this thing :)

well, as per lisa's request i am finally updating my blog... lots has been happening - i guess that's why i haven't been good at keeping this thing current.
well, i guess i will start off with yesterday (thurs)- went for a business dinner at "all india". then had a girls night on the town with Jacquie, Tanya, Trina, Chenoa, and Jamie... we had a great time just hangin in the bar. i had a couple deliveries during the day and did a mother/daughter facial in the morn. way too early in the morning i went to a BNI meeting (business network international). the chapter i attended has breakfast meetings from 6:30 to 8:30a.m. at the whitespot by Stanley Park. i'm considering joining up but i still dunno if i want to commit. it's a group of different business people (one person per profession) and everybody focuses on giving out as many referrals to each person as possible. seems like it might work really well in my favour because basically anyone with skin can use my products. plus there could be good potential for selling lots of employee 'gift sets'.

wednesday... i bought a new pair of circa runners (black, grey and white) from 'Anti-Social' right up the street - it's so fun doing neighborhood shopping! then i ended up downtown doing errands and got sucked into le chateau... bought a top, a pair of earrings and a ring.

tuesday... valley womens network evening dinner and dessert - we meet on the top 35th floor of the coast plaza hotel overlooking english bay and now that the sun is setting later we got to watch the whole beautiful sunset! hmmm, i'm already beginning to blank out as to what else i have been up to. i think that was the day i hung out in tanya's garden and caught up on her L.A. trip.

monday, monday, monday. drawing a blank.
made andrew try the new microdermabrasion.

sunday, had a great mary kay skin care class that evening with some friends. everybody loves the new microdermabrasion! went for dinner at 'green lettuce' - very good, my first time ever eating there even though it was literally steps away from andrews old house.

friday night and all day saturday i was at 'Career Conference' - there were about 1,000 mary kay women from all over BC and it was way more fun than i expected.... imagine all those women dancing away to Outkast's song 'hey ya' - it happened! it was a really great time plus i got a lot of excellent training.
saturday night we had 'the winks'- paul patko, todd and tyr over along with rainbow and we picked up burritos at budgies then went to black dog to pick out a movie. watched ghost dog and had a nice mellow nite.

well, thats the one week wrap up. i'll try to put some pics up soon. headed over to my sister's house now...

yay!

had a great weekend!

friday nite was nice and chilled - i made pad thai for dinner then we went to our friend rainbow's place across the street. we hung out with her fun not-so-little puppy bruno and he had a heck of a time showing us all his affection. we watched the movie 'love liza' which has kathy bates and phillip seymour-hoffman - a funny yet very disturbing movie.

saturday morn i had a mk 'career breakfast' avec buffet! i had 2 guests with me, my old roommie katie and her friend elly. both of them won door prizes plus elly won the Grand Prize... a free Microdermabrasion Set!!! it was a good meeting and the topic was about all that the Mary Kay Ash Charitable foundation does for women with cancer and women affected by domestic violence. they also had a 'trash for treasures' promo happening where all the guests got to donate any slightly used cosmetic products to a women's shelter for a coupon off any mk product. it all went really well and by the end of the morning i had over $100 in sales plus 2 bookings - one skin care class, and one "satin feet" class.
saturday nite we went to andrew's step-dad's 50th bday party... i think i had a little too much to drink but it was a really great time nonetheless.

sunday sunday sunday - 3 meals out! slept in (nice for a change) then andrew and i walked with poki up to 'the whip" for breakfast and sat out on the patio. i had a few customer calls to make when i got back home and then i headed out on a bike ride downtown. took the seawall and then cut through yaletown... met up with brenda and then went shopping... picked up a new pair of h/h shoes that i'm quite excited about (i'll post a pic) and then got some sushi for lunch [a write-off cuz she bought some eyeshadow and a moisturizer - i love being self-employed!]
once i got home i did a bit of paperwork and then cabby came over and we all went to 'the foundation' for dinner.... mmm, it was so good - we all shared a huge starters plate (hummus, yam dip, broccoli and tofu in peanut sauce, and 2 yummy salads) then i had spicy carrot-mango soup with goman salad.
bak home, did some cleaning and now the day is done - i'm off to bed!

it's a brand new month!

well i'm happy with how wonderfully february went for me - i earned a silver medal for bringing 4 people into the company in one calander month, i am now a 'senior consultant' and soon will get my 'red jacket'. with one more team member i will be a 'team leader' and my company commision cheques will get even bigger! i already have 2 more people that have shown an interest, so i'm going to try and make it my goal to beat last month and qualify for the car by april!!!
